Visa waiver program

The Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique has the honour to inform that, according to Decree No. 10/2023 of March 31, 2023, citizens holding ordinary passports from 29 countries, including  Japan and the Republic of Korea, who intend to travel to Mozambique, for tourism and business purposes, are exempt from presenting entry visas.

Citizens covered by this exemption are allowed multiple entries for a period of 30 days from the date of the first entry. This period may be extended for an additional 30 days, upon justification, and the request must be submitted through the website or at the Local Immigration Office in the area of accommodation.

This exemption does not exempt citizens from complying with the Legal Formalities Relating to Entry, Stay and Exit, applicable in the Republic of Mozambique, such as:

a) Be the holder of a passport with a remaining validity of no less than six (6) months;

b) The citizen cannot be in a situation of prohibition to enter the Republic of Mozambique;

c) Present a copy of the return flight ticket;

d) Present a copy of proof of accommodation.

Citizens eligible for the exemption regime must complete the pre-registration* through the website(www.evisa.gov.mz) at least 48 hours before departure.

Change in Office Hours

The office hours of the Embassy will be between 10:30 am and 3 pm , Mondays through Fridays, starting from Monday, June 13, 2022.

The Consular Section(visa application submission/document authentication application submission) will be in operationbetween 10:30 am and 12:30 pm, Mondays through Thursdays (4 days a week).

Please understand that there may be changes in operation days and time depending on the circumstances.

Regarding Visa application processing options

We are temporarily suspending the acceptance of Extra Urgent visa applications option for all categories of visas. (Updated February 14, 2023)

 

 

<Overseas Residential Registration/Residence Report>

Mozambican nationals who reside either in Japan, South Korea, Australia, or New Zealand for more than 3 months are required to submit necessary documents to our embassy in Tokyo to register their presence in those above mentioned countries. Please contact the Consular section via email at moz.consular@embamoc.jpto request for more information.
